Professional Background

&
Clinical Approaches

I am a Clinical Social Worker who has been working in the field for over 10 years. I started my career in 2011 as an intern attending Fordham University. In 2013 I obtained my Masters in Social work and started working in a clinic providing mental health counseling. In 2014 I started my work in Supportive Housing which expanded my view on how to treat patients from a holistic and person-centered perspective. Currently, I am working within the substance use services realm, learning and implementing Harm Reduction approaches.

Clinically I approach therapy with my clients from a psychoanalytic psychotherapy perspective. I bring in other approaches as needed and as we discuss the benefits for your overall well-being. I believe we are all affected by the systems we live within and that can cause traumas big and small. We would work on understanding how your past influences your current decisions and how your relationship with your family and friends affects you. I am also a harm reductionist and believe that substances are utilized as a way to cope. Through our work, we can figure out solutions to your concerns and help construct healthier coping mechanisms. Together we will create a safe and trusting space to heal
